The TELE-GUARD protects your telephone conversations by turning off the most common series and parallel line tap devices such as voltage activated tape recorders and series line transmitters (bugs). Green LED and audio muting feature also instantly lets you know if anyone is listening on another extension or even a “lineman's test set” outside your house. Override switch lets you continue your conversation, if desired, after you have been alerted. Telephone line powered, never needs batteries or power adapter. Simple modular connection to phone.
This unit has a privacy light that alerts you to the presence of voltage irregularity on your line. The main function of this unit is to regulate your phone line so local line based voltage devices never trip. In essence, the devices are turned off. It also has a secondary feature that, if you are on the phone, and you get a second voltage drop (receiver comes off the hook or a line based device turns on) it will automatically mute the line. It will not release the line until either the unit is turned off or the voltage returns to normal.
